Without a doubt, the last few years have been a challenge for anyone owning and running a business. There has been so much uncertainty and disruption that it has been hard to keep heads above water. But, there are also huge opportunities. The key is being able to adapt your business quickly enough to overcome the challenges and take advantage of the opportunities.
This is not necessarily easy though. Adapting a business may involve cash, new technology or equipment, time- consuming research and of course winning the hearts and minds of all those that can influence the success of the changes to be implemented.
That is where our Leadership Programme comes in. Equipping you with the knowledge and skills needed to set goals, work out how best to achieve those goals and then successfully implement agreed plans.
The Leadership Programme is made up of six key topics. Either participate in the full-programme or cherry-pick the most relevant workshops. The workshops will cover the following topics:
Session One. Goal setting and developing a Strategic Plan - Thursday 29th April
Thinking strategically and looking at the bigger picture. Developing a roadmap that focuses on “how we will succeed” means everyone knows what needs doing, when and how and importantly why things need to change. This creates the purpose, energy and direction that ensures that things get done!
Session Two. How do I know if my Strategic Plan is fit for purpose? - Wednesday 26th May
Evaluating the options that you have highlighted to solve problems or grow your business. Working out which will give the best outcome, which can be realistically rolled out and which will get the support from employees, customers, suppliers and other key players.
Session Three. How to gain and maintain a competitive advantage - Wednesday 23rd June
To beat the competition involves a clear understanding of the needs of your customers, market forces and future threats from new technology or product/service development. Then doing things in a way that competitors cannot match whether that is based upon price, quality, service or uniqueness. Easier said than done!
Session Four. Exploring new products and markets - Wednesday 21st July
In response to the challenges of 2020, many businesses will be thinking about offering new products or services, attracting different customers or diversifying and doing something completely different. But how do you go about this? What barriers exist that will make this a challenge? How do you avoid wasting time and money and a failed investment?
Session Five. Successfully implementing new ways of working - Wednesday 25th August
Knowing what to do and doing it are two separate things entirely! What is key to success is careful planning, overcoming resistance from key players who may prefer things to stay the same, ensuring the changes align with your goals and values, and making sure that the new ways of working become ingrained into the way things are done within your business (i.e. become part of the culture).
Session Six. Exemplary Leadership for the 21st-century - Wednesday 22nd September
Leading people is not the same as it was 20 or even 10 years ago! Remote working, gig economy, more dynamic and mobile workforces, skills shortages, welfare and wellbeing issues, shifts in attitudes and behaviours that make managing performance challenging. We, therefore, explore what it takes for 21st-century leaders to get their teams to do the right things at the right time and in the right way!
