GLD are a mechanical and electrical design consultancy that provide building services design and technical support to a variety of clients in the public and private sector. GLD are based in Greater Manchester, however our projects can be Nationwide and project work may require travelling to visit clients or sites. CRB checks will be required for certain projects.

We are looking to appoint a Mechanical Building Services Engineer to support our existing team with a good workload potential for 2021/22. Grade and salary levels are experience and qualification dependent. Projects will include the design of HVAC systems, domestic services and drainage. An exciting role working with clients large and small across a range of sectors including residential, healthcare, office, churches, leisure centres and industrial. We promote a proactive and helpful approach will good communication with other team members and clients.

A successful applicant will need to have good technical skills developed with on the job experience with a good base of relevant qualifications. A user knowledge of industry related design software packages such as Cymap and Tas. Suitable engineering qualifications are required, and experience in the production of detailed mechanical design solutions for services such as Heating, Hot and Cold Water, Above Ground Drainage, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Chilled water, BMS Controls. You will be expected to be familiar with relevant regulations and CIBSE Guides and other industry related design standards. You will have a keen eye for detail and the ability to meet deadlines and take on a varied and busy workload. You will have an enthusiasm for design and a wish to progress in terms of training and career path.

We expect our engineers to be working towards Chartered Engineer status and we actively encourage our staff to look to further their learning with CPD's and or formal training. You will be working in a friendly team environment inside a Grade 11 listed building with attractive surroundings.
